And then we were three…

I truly hope this is the last of the ‘there are big changes’ posts. Change is messy and complicated, it rarely fits a simple narrative outside of Hollywood docudramas. Trying to describe the changes and the factors that cause them is more historical record than entertainment. Perhaps the entertainment is going to stem from the history. I will try.

A major issue has been a series of well intentioned but dud offers from other entities. There was a group in NYC with a new model for music distribution. They got upset when I actually signed the contract they sent. I mean – that’s what you do with contracts right? I think they just wanted me to admire it before they floated back into obscurity. Then we shared the idea with a large Australian festival of playing live in a museum – the fossil band in the Fossils. I though that was fun, but I think I scared them off by asking for proper money. And then the drip drip drip of NFTs, which didn’t get past the first time I saw a Bored Ape. Jesus who would want to be in that gallery?

OK so a new year and a new model. You will see that we are now Dogfood Sevcom Nilamox. If we’re going to acknowledge old labels then let’s go for it – let’s have ALL the old labels. Especially as Dogfood is getting most of the action at the moment. One new feature of this site will be a clear, organised guide to all the re-issues, no matter which partner is making them so that it’s much easier to see who and what is available. Its been far too complex.

In general the site will start to use a single consistent design with a shared look and feel. Whether it’s Sevcom or ManCave it’s all our branding. You should also get a feel for the publications that we hope to send out one day when mail works again.

Luna Park 1906

There will one day be a 3D Luna Park. But instead of making the whole thing I’m going to get one, maybe two buildings working. Then perhaps funding and other people can make this huge dream into a real artwork.

There’s more but perhaps we can talk about dreams and fun things instead. I promise to post more. I tried Facebook for a while there. Jesus what a mind prison.

Just keep on Tom. No matter what you produce, I will always worship you and your creativity.
It’s been decades of following, being influenced, and letting the music float me to a better place emotionally as well as keep my own creativity bubbling.
It’s practically an identity, being “home” when I listen to your music.
Always in waiting for more Severed Heads or the like. Thank you for existing, doing, being.
