Limping Museum

Hi folks! Look at this random image I found in a blog backup!

So anyway, you already know one function of this site is a Severed Heads Museum. One part of that was supposed to be a living history, that is, a document which could updated and expanded over time, perhaps by multiple authors. Although it’s now better than the static pages I had before it’s still a huge task and I’ve had to back off from the idea. Just not enough time on this planet. And besides, since when did people actually write their autobiographies? Hah.

So, a more achievable task – to compile all the articles and interviews as plain text so that an author, or authors have raw material to spin into a narrative.

I’m currently preparing a speech for music students about my 42 years in music making. I’m greatly assisted by a bloody big hard drive full of stuff stashed since 1979 – BUT – that hard drive is itself a huge task to organise and maintain. I’m spending hours just trying to cohere some information into a short slide show history. Information has never been more fluid, but it’s a little like the Magician’s Apprentice … way too much fluid.

Have a look at the Source Documents in the Museum and maybe help with a comment linking to an article – or maybe even OCR a clipping. It all adds up. Thank you!

  1. Hey Tom, I hope you’re well.
Bandcamp says Seance 82 is cancelled?
    Hopefully postponed……
Do you think your speech will be recorded and available to non-students?
I recently found some old clips out of an abc doco you were featured in warping records on your stove hotplate and dropping watermelons off balconies, awesome stuff!!

I was up late working, listening to Rotund For Success. Thought for bit and said to myself, what is Tom Ellard up to. Thankfully you are still up to things. Keep on rocking in the “free” world. So, I need to dig into this, see if you have new media. I think I posted something a while back on some other website you had, or something that was thrown into this, I have no idea. Anyway, good stuff so far as I look and listen and so on.
