Let’s try be brief. This is not good.
You start by typing a short written description. For example “Juno Bass” or “TR-808 Kick”. You will get something that is roughly what you hoped for, and can then twiddle some knobs to move it in the right direction, or open an advanced panel which is more like a real grown up synthesiser. This is all reasonable except that it takes longer than just using the controls normally offered by non “AI” instruments.
Let’s try asking for something more interesting… “Sorry I don’t understand this prompt. Please try to describe the desired sound in other words.” OK, I’ll try something less complicated… “Sorry I don’t understand this prompt. Please try to describe the desired sound in other words.” Surely you have heard of wavefolding? “Sorry I don’t understand this prompt. Please try to describe the desired sound in other words.” How about a DX7 I’m sure you’ve heard of that. It has!! But it just sounds like a Juno 60.
I would like to make use of AI to create sounds that I could not make on a Juno 60. How about I describe a cold dark sound? “Sistema is a synthesiser, so it cannot create foley sounds”. That word Foley (which should always be capitalised even if you are groovy start up) is from film production – the penny drops – this a tool for people who don’t want to employ an actual synthesist. It is a tool for people who believe that the Juno 60 = synthesiser and rolling some dice is the way to go.
But every synthesiser – even complicated ones – already come with presets. If you want to search for presets just type the words into the preset search and get the same result or better than “AI”. There may be some process going on with Sistema that is more than just matching titles – but the result is not evident.
I paid full price for this in case it comes back with improvements. Prove it.
