If nothing else, Meowsic has a semi-circular keyboard. Stop right there and fully imbibe Semi-circular keyboard – see that on a MOOG will you? It is the epitome of ‘Cat Piano’. It looks like a cat. It plays ‘meowaphone’ noises. Voila.
Actually the ‘meowaphone’ is a woman saying meow. I think she may be the same person who howls one of 7 ‘witty kitty’ songs each time you accidentally press the pink cat button up top right. You will soon learn to quickly thump the blue cat nose to shut her up. Not her fault poor thing but I know at least one person who has hacked that infernal feature out of order.
It also plays tunes and can record yours as well, although it seems only to be able to deal with 2 buttons at a time.
The paw on the left selects between piano, bells, organ, banjo and meowaphone. All are a bit plastic and – if you are above the age of four – wearying after a few days. The paw on the right selects drum machine patterns that came with Touch Glow Organs way back when. There’s a microphone, I don’t think it works. Maybe it just sends the sound back to Maison Battat for analysis. You’ll soon avoid touching anything except playing some occasional meowaphone – simplicity is the best way.
If you are hard up for room there’s this as well.
